Marine and Offshore Reverse Osmosis

Fresh water makers are essential if many people have to be provided with potable water on Navy vessels, cruise liners of offshore-platforms.

The delivery of potable water has to meet national/international water quality standards given by WHO, German TVO or French ACS.

Our smallest RO units are made for submarines or mega yachts. The larger ones are for cruise ships in need of many hundred tons of fresh water per day.

DeFraWater® supplies the complete range of spare parts around the world. Our key performance is to quickly and accurately respond to our customers' needs. We can supply the goods wherever required and our service team operates worldwide.

NEW: UF+RO Desalination Fresh water generator

DeFraWater
® supplies customised All-In-One skid with combine Ultrafiltration and Reverse Osmosis membrane sea water unit.

The combine UF+RO 2 passes allows vessels to operate the membrane fresh water unit in any kind of water. It can run in shallow water, shore side, harbour where conventional sea water membrane unit can't be operated for the good of the reverse osmosis membranes.

The UF membrane pass installed upstream the RO membrane are there to filter sea water with high content of sedimentations as well as possibly contaminated water with high fouling potential. The UF membrane stage is implemented to protect the reverse osmosis membranes from premature worn-out, damages and excessive membrane fouling.

The two pass UF+RO one skid fresh water generator can be designed to accommodate either conventional vessels, offshore or Navy vessels upon the technical and marine standard requirement.

Desalination Reverse Osmosis Unit

The daily demand of fresh water on a ship or an offshore platform typically starts from 2 tons/day up to 100 tons/day.

DeFraWater® common RO unit sizes are 10 tons, 30 tons, 60 tons or 100 tons per day (24h).

We
can supply large passenger vessels like cruise ships with much larger system capacities of even a few 1000 tons of potable water per day.

DeFraWater® supplies RO units also for use on Navy vessels and offshore platforms. These units have to be designed in reply to very specific requirements e.g. on submarines and other Navy surface vessels.

Our certified and skilled service team ensures proper installation and commissioning on board vessels.

RO+RO: 2 Stage RO pass

Boiler feed and/or Technical water can be produced simply and economically by the  implementation of a second pass RO Membrane unit downstream any existing drinking water generator.

The unit consist of simple ON/OFF run mode within a very small foot print.

The unit is connected downstream the fresh water generator to treat further the drinking water. It is designed to take only a portion of  the produced water to generate the feed boiler water.

Marine Requirement Design

DeFraWater® considers the specific regulations of the different countries for fresh water supply, especially for marine use.

Therefore any needed post treatments can be integrated into the systems e.g.:

  • Deacidification
  • Softening
  • Hardening
  • Mineralizing
  • UV Disinfection
  • Chlorine Dosing
  • CO2 Dosing

We supply Reverse Osmosis for all marine and offshore including Navy vessels.

Our plants installed on submarines and surface vessels are engineered and built to meet the challenging Navy requirements.

DeFraWater® technical support team is qualified to install and service our unit on board marine vessels.

DeFraWater® units are engineered and built with the state of the art equipment and measuring devices

Our technical and engineering team have acquired several years of experience in servicing, designing and producing fresh water reverse osmosis units.

This long-term know how allows us to select the best membranes, sensors, pumps and other devices. Our philosophy is to make sure that our units perform at their best for the treatment of any feed streams.
